Learn how to tie your own flies and enjoy the company of like minded fly fishers/ fly tiers.

All levels of fly tiers welcome.

Please note: This is not a men only club, ladies very welcome.

Fly School for 2012/13

Bronze Starts September 2012

The course covers

Fly dressing equipment.

Items used in tying flies both old and new.

Techniques used in fly dressing.

Fly dressing, mostly wet flies (Nymphs) and runs until Jun.

Silver. Starts Sepember 2012

The course covers more advanced fly dressing, mostly dry flies.

Both courses will conform to the Fly Dressers Guild nationwide accreditation scheme.

The Branch

The branch meets at the Redhill Social Club 8pm until 10pm most Wednesdays, except during June, July and August when the club meets the 1st Wednesday of the month.

New members always welcome.

Come along and learn to tie your own flies, we have members willing to teach you how. If you are just starting don't buy any equipment straight away. Have a chat with club members who will advise you on what tools and materials to buy.

Facilities

The Social club has a bar, games area, skittle ally and hall (fly tying). There is also a playing field which can be used for casting practice and tutorial.

The branch also has a viewing screen, video camera and projector which are used for fly tying demonstrations and recording.

Directions

The Redhill Social Club is in the village of Redhill which is only about 1.5 miles from Bristol International airport.

From the Airport: Follow the A38 South for approximately 1.5 miles. As you start to go down a long hill (Redhill) take the turning into Church Road, Redhill on the right hand side. NOTE the road is signed Walled Garden. The entrance to the club is 150 yards along Church Road on the right. just as the road takes a right hand bend.

From the South head for the airport on the A38. Go passed the Holiday Inn hotel and then as you start to go up a long hill (Redhill) you will pass a pub (Darlington Arms) on the left. 150yds further up the hill take the next left into Church Road, Redhill. Please be careful as from this direction the junction into Redhill is very sharp and comes back on you . The entrance to the club is 150yds along Church Road on the right. just as the road takes a right hand bend.
